INTRODUCTION

A hovercraft is a vehicle capable of traveling over most surfaces on a cushion of air trapped under the body for lift. Air propellers, water propellers, or water jets usually provide forward propulsion. Air-cushion vehicles can attain higher speeds than can either ships or most land vehicles due to lower frictional forces and use much less power than helicopters of the same weight. A Hovercraft is a vehicle that flies like a plane but can float like a boat, can drive like a car but will traverse ditches and gullies as it is a flat terrain. Hovercraft operate on a cushion of air and during their earlier years were considered to fly above the surface below. They generate a volume of lift air, maintained by a flexible skirt at a higher pressure than the atmospheric pressure above. Their weight is therefore balanced by the lift that is generated.

Our hovercraft use commercially available technology, are diesel powered, and use aluminium as the primary hull structure to make them easy to maintain and repair in the field.
