Abstract

Intelligent Energy Saving System can be used in places like where lighting is very important. The libraries will be well illuminated with many lamps. When people are not present at a reading place the lighting can be made OFF and when they are present, the lighting made ON. All these can be done through by Dimming circuit and PIR sensor.

This paper proposes a method of automatic people
counting used in air-conditioning energy-saving. The method
has counted the number of people in the indoor environments
through three modules: image pre-processing module, image
marking module and people counting module, in order to
control air-conditioning controller to achieve the purpose of

Present project is designed using AT89S52 microcontroller to count the number of person present in the room and to save the energy used by the appliances. The project utilizes the IL74 optocoupler which is used to detect the visitors.
