High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) A Means of Increasing Downlink Capacity in WCDMA Cellular Networks
Abstract:
The increasing demand for capacity in order to provide high data rate multimedia services in wireless environments necessitates enhanced radio transmission techniques and network protocol functionality. Such techniques have to be added to already existing mobile cellular networks, e.g. as provided by EDGE. For 3rd generation UMTS networks based on WCDMA, the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is being i ....etc

High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) (Sometimes known as High-Speed Downlink Protocol Access) is a 3G mobile telephony protocol in the HSPA family, which provides a roadmap for UMTS-based networks to increase their data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments now support 1.8 Mbit/s, 3.6 Mbit/s, 7.2 Mbit/s and 14.4 Mbit/s in downlink.

Further speed grades are planned for the near future. The networks are then to be upgraded to HSPA Evolved, which provides speeds of 42 Mbit downlink in its first release.

HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) improves system capacity and increases user data rates in the downlink direction, that is, transmission from the Radio Access Network to the mobile terminal. This module, which is designed to supplement the UMTS Air Interface tutorial, explores the HSDPA channel architecture along with the additional functionality required in the UMTS MAC (Medium Access Control) layer. The processes of adaptive modulation and coding along with procedures by which HSDPA data is scheduled for transmission across the air in ....etc

HIGH SPEED DOWNLINK PACKET ACCESS(HSDPA)

High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is a packet based technology for W-CDMA downlink with data transmission rates of 4 to 5 times that of current generation 3G networks (UMTS) and 15 times faster than GPRS. The latest release boosts downlink speeds from the current end-user rate of 384 kbps (up to 2 Mbps according to standards) to a maximum value according to standards of 14.4 Mbps. Real life end-user speeds will be in the range of 2 to 3 Mbps.

HSDPA provides a smooth evolutionary path for Un ....etc

The topic is related to improving end-user experience for web browsing services in the HSDPA scheduler.

I wanted to ask some questions related to it.

The basic idea is to identify web browsing applications in the WRAN from their traffic characteristics, define the user requirements for them and then basically optimizing the application in order to improve the scheduling algorithm in hsdpa.
For the web browsing services, the characteristics I have taken into account are, i.e. with these characteristics we would be able to identify web b ....etc
