Changes in the volume of pulmonary air change the conductivity distribution in the thorax. On the basis of this effect, we describe an instrument without contact to measure the volume of the lung which is suitable for applications such as monitoring of respiration in patients of sleep for the sleep apnea. The instrument is based on a magnetic coil and is positioned in a soft mattress below the subject. Current AM frequency is applied to the coil to generate eddy currents in the tissue near the drivers, which in turn generat ....etc

EDDY CURRENT BRAKES
EDDY CURRENT:
It is a swirling current set up in a conductor in response to a changing magnetic field.
By Lenz's law, the current swirls in such a way as to create a magnetic field opposing the change
Eddy Current Brakes
It slow an object by creating eddy currents through emi which create resistance, and in turn either heat or electricity.
Braking action is made by varying the strength of the magnetic field.
A braking force is possible when electric current is passed through the electromagnets.
