Introduction
Agitated friction welding (FSW) is a solid state bonding process that uses a non-consumable tool to join two work pieces that face without melting the workpiece material. The heat is generated by friction between the rotating tool and the workpiece material, which leads to a smoothed region near the FSW tool.
