THERMAL POWER STATION

The basic energy cycle involved in the plant is as follows :

Chemical Energy --> Mechanical Energy --> Electrical Energy

Turbine
Turbine converts the heat energy of the steam into mechanical energy.

The super heated steam works on the blades of the turbine and hence the blades starts rotating to produce the mechanical energy.
1) High pressure turbine.
2) Intermediate Pressure turbine.
3) Low pressure turbine.

Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Station is Rajasthan's first super thermal power station. It is located 27 km away from Suratgarhtown in Ganganagar district. The power plant is operated by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL). The power plant has 6 units that can produce 250 megawatts each.
