Hello guys

I need to develop a counter based on IR to count the no of objects passing in the conveyor and it needed to be display in LCD and has to be updated evry time a object pass through conveyor in LCD.

I thought of using 89c51 microcontroller.

I can able to interface IR and LCD to microcontroller, but i dont know how to write a code to count the object and update in LCD. so can anyone help me out plss
