This paper deals with the design, construction, instrumentation and testing of a GSM and ZIGBEE based monitoring system for the measurement of Overhead High Voltage (HV) Conductor Temperature and Sag. The main advantage of this concept is the real time direct measurement of the parameters (i.e., conductor sag and temperature) needed for the operation of the transmission system without intermediate measurement of conductor tension and ambient weather conditions, by which the temperature controlling of transmission lines conductors is ....etc
