Abstract
In This paper investigates the impact of a STATCOM operating in a phase imbalanced mode on damping sub synchronous resonance in series capacitive compensated transmission grid. Phase imbalance has the potential of reducing the energy exchange between the electrical and mechanical sides of turbine-generator and, therefore, damps the sub synchronous oscillations resulting from series capacitive compensation.

Hi,
I'm doing a project on Power quality improvement in transmission line using D-statcom.

This paper presents the enhancement of voltage sags,
harmonic distortion and low power factor using Distribution
Static Compensator (D-STATCOM) with LCL Passive Filter in
distribution system. The model is based on the Voltage Source
Converter (VSC) principle. The D-STATCOM injects a current
into the system to mitigate the voltage sags.LCL Passive Filter
was then added to D-STATCOM to improve harmonic distortion
and low power factor.

Fuzzy Coordination of FACTS Controllers for Damping Power System Oscillations

Abstract
This paper concerns the optimization and coordination of the conventional FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) damping controllers in multimachine power system. Firstly, the parameters of FACTS controller are optimized. Then, a hybrid fuzzy logic controller for the coordination of FACTS controllers is presented. This coordination method is well suitable to series connected FACTS devices like UPFC, TCSC etc. in damping multi-mod ....etc

Abstract
In this paper, the mathematical model of
STATCOM based on space vector theory is presented. The
voltage equations are transformed into the synchronous rotating
reference frame (dq-axis). The relationship between STATCOM
parameters and stability, transient and steady state
performances are determined. Stability investigation with Routh-
Hurwitz criterion indicates that the STATCOM is a stable
system and the numerical values of resistors, inductors and
capacitors in the STATCOM equivalent circuit have no effect on
stabil ....etc
