This project was designed to identify methods of collection and vehicle disassembly that optimize the net value of post consumer vehicles in terms of recyclable material recovery in addition to conventional recovery of reusable parts. The project included pilot field studies to evaluate the use of on-site collection and dismantling methods where materials were separated into target material categories at the point of generation prior to collection.
