Abstract In piezoelectric energy harvesting (PEH), with the use of the nonlinear technique named synchronized switching harvesting on inductor (SSHI), the harvesting efficiency can be greatly enhanced. Furthermore, the introduction of its selfpowered feature makes this technique more applicable for standalone systems. In this article, a modified circuitry and an improved analysis for self-powered SSHI are proposed.
