NMOS - N-type metal-oxide-semiconductor logic uses n-type field effect transistors (MOSFETs) to implement logic gates and other digital circuits. These nMOS transistors operate by creating an inversion layer in a p-type transistor body. This inversion layer, called the n-channel, can conduct electrons between n-type source and drain terminals. The n-channel is created by applying voltage to the third terminal, called the gate. Like other MOSFETs, nMOS transistors have four modes of operation: cut-off (or sub-threshold), triode, saturation ....etc

If you have been shopping for a computer, then you have heard the word cache. Modern computers have both L1 and L2 caches. You may also have gotten advice on the topic from well-meaning friends, perhaps something like Don't buy that Celeron chip, it doesn't have any cache in it!. Caching is a technology based on the memory subsystem of your computer. The main purpose of a cache is to accelerate your computer while keeping the price of the computer low. Caching allows you to do your computer tasks more rapidly.

BiCMOS simple explanation

INTRODUCTION

In integrated technologies, BiCMOS, also called BiMOS It is the integration of BJT and CMOS technology into a single device.

In the 1990s modern integrated circuit technologies began to make BICMOS a reality.

BICMOS Circuit uses the characteristics of each type of transistor most appropriately.

Generally this means that high current circuit use metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFETs) for efficient control & portion ....etc

Introduction

The word supercomputer entered the mainstream lexicon in 1996 and 1997 when IBM's Deep Blue supercomputer challenged the world chess champion in two tournaments broadcast around the world.
Since then, IBM has been busy improving its supercomputer technology and tackling much deeper problems.
Their latest project, code named Blue Gene, is poised to shatter all records for computer and network performance.

CMOS circuits utilize complementary MOSFETs, i.e; NMOS and PMOS devices together in various patterns to create functional blocks like AND or OR gates. However the problem with these types of CMOS circuits is that they are inherently low power circuits. They cannot handle large currents. So when your block needs to have a large fan out (need to drive a large no of outputs, i.e; more current required) CMOS circuits fail. That is why we use BiCMOS. They are very similar to CMOS circuits except for the BJT(Bipolar Junction Transistor) output stage. ....etc

ABSTRACT
BiCMOS technology is a combination of Bipolar and CMOS technology. CMOS technology offers less power dissipation, smaller noise margins, and higher packing density. Bipolar technology, on the other hand, ensures high switching and I/O speed and good noise performance. It follows that BiCMOS technology accomplishes both - improved speed over CMOS and lower power dissipation than bipolar technology. The main drawback of BiCMOS technology is the higher costs due to the added process complexity. Impurity profiles have ....etc
