RECONSTRUCTION OF UNDERWATER IMAGE BY BISPECTRUM

Reconstruction of underwater object from a sequence of images distorted by moving water waves is a challenging task. A new approach is presented in this project. We make use of the bi spectrum technique to analyze the raw image sequences and recover the phase information of the true object. We test our approach on both simulated and real-world data, separately. Results show that the algorithm is very promising. Such technique has wide applications to areas such as ocean study and submarine ob ....etc

Abstract

t-A new two-dimensional (2-D) block Kalman filtering method is presented which uses a full-plane image model to generate a more accurate filtered estimate of an image that has been corrupted by additive noise and full-plane blur. Causality is maintained within the filtering process by employing multiple concurrent block estimators. In addition, true state dynamics are preserved, resulting in an accurate Kalman gain matrix. Although image restoration methods based on spectral filtering techniques are very efficient, they can be applied only to problems with fairly simple spatially invariant blurring operators. Iterative methods, however, are much more flexible; they can be very efficient for spatially invariant as well as spatially variant blurs, they can incorporate a variety of regularization techniques and boundary conditions, and they can more easily incorporate additional constraints, such as nonnegativity.
