Hello, i'm israr from 8th semester ee. i chose automated railway gate control using plc (ge versamax) as my project. i used ir sensors to detect train and send signal to open the gate. so far in the input side there is no problem at all. but the output , that is a l293d driver controlling dc geared motors i don't know how to connect the l293d to the plc output. in l293d there 4 input terminals. 2 for each and you are suppoesed to give '0' that is a ground signal to i1 or i2 to operate in anti and clockwise respectively. but how do i give this 0 ....etc

what happens when a person is crossing the railway gate and suddenly the gate has closed???? will the train be given the signal to stop or the gate will wait until the person crosses????? ....etc
