WORKING OF CAM ENGINES
Crank shaft turn the cam shaft
Cam lobe pushes down the pushrod and it opens the valve
Return motion is carried out due to spring action on push rod
This results in closing of the valve

Introduction

CAMS
Control the breathing channels (valves) of an IC engine
Connected to camshaft which is operated by crankshaft
Cams push open valves at proper time & guide their closure
But they are inflexible except VTEC & VVT-I
Engineers could not vary timing, lift & duration of valve opening infinitely.

A solenoid is an electromechanical valve for use with a liquid or gas. The valve is controlled by an electric current through a solenoid valve in case of a two-port throughput is on or off, in the case of a three-way valve is leaking switch between the two output ports. Multiple valves can be placed together on a manifold.
