Thermoelectric devices are being investigated as a means of improving fuel economy for diesel and gasoline vehicles through the conversion of wasted fuel energy, in the form of heat, to useable electricity. Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator is a electrical generator.
It uses a radioactive material as the fuel and uses the fact that radioactive materials generate heat as they decay into nonradioactive materials.
