This paper deals with the application of artificial neural network to the transient stability assessment of a power system. The backpropagation technique is used to train the neural networks. The use of artificial neural network for computing critical clearing time and transient energy margin for a machine infinite bus system has been illustrated. It is well known that the current ad hoc protocol suites do not scale to work efficiently in networks of more than a few hundred nodes. Most current ad hoc routing architectures use flat static addressing and thus, need to keep track of each node individually, creating a massive overhead problem as the network grows.
