Abstract

This paper deals with unified power quality conditioner (UPQC), which aims at the integration of series-active and shunt-active power filters. The main purpose of a UPQC is to compensate for voltage imbalance, reactive power, negative-sequence current and harmonics. This paper discusses the compensation principle and control strategy of the UPQC in detail. Experimental results obtained from a laboratory prototype of 20 kVA are shown to verify the viability and effectiveness of the UPQC ....etc

A practical method of modeling wind generator control systems for network simulation using Matlab-Simulink is presented. The interface developed between PSS/E and Matlab-Simulink allows the models generated to be used directly in PSS/E dynamic simulation. Fundamentally, modeling involves understanding the dynamics of equipments to be modeled and deriving the differential and algebraic equations which are coded using a high level computing language. For network elements resilient to change, the latter remains the method.

With these files it is possible to calculate and simulate a dollar, a boost or a buck-boost converter. There is a .m file with the design parameters (Init.m), that the parameters can be changed by the usser, and to simulate the converters this file must be executed previously. On the other hand, there is a matlab function with calculations (this file is called from Init.m).
Finally, there is a model of the three converters. It is possible to add a controller to the model or change the type of load (in the attached file it is considered a resis ....etc
