Abstract:
The combination of antenna array beamforming with multiuser detection can effectively
improve the detection efficiency for wireless communications under multipath interference,
especially for the applications in a fast fading channel. The authors study the performance of an
adaptive beamformer incorporated with a B-MMSE detector, which works on a unique signal
frame characterised by training sequence preamble and data blocks segmented by zero-bits. Both
the beamformer weight updating and B-MMSE detection are carried out ....etc

Mobile ad hoc networks are typically characterized by high mobility and frequent page link failures that result in low throughput and high end-to-end delay. To reduce the number of route discoveries due to such broken paths, multipath routing can be utilized so that alternate paths are available. To achieve a better Eb/N0 (bit energy to noise ratio) than todays Rake receiver, a better estimation of the radio
channel is needed. This paper proposes to reach this goal with
artificial neural networks, which are used for detecting all multipaths
in a direct sequence spread spectrum signal.The
output of the adaptive neual net is an estimation of the channel
response. To increase the Eb/N0 of direct sequence spread spectrum
signals, Rake receivers consist of up to 6 demodulators, which
