A Hovercraft is a vehicle that flies like a plane but can float like a boat, can drive like a car but will traverse ditches and gullies as it is a flat terrain. They generate a volume of lift air, maintained by a flexible skirt at a higher pressure than the atmospheric pressure above. Their weight is therefore balanced by the lift that is generated.
