What is Geopolymer Concrete:

Geopolymer was the name given by Daidovits in 1978 to materials which are characterized by chains or networks or inorganic molecules. Geopolymer cement concrete is made from utilization of waste materials such as fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBS). Fly ash is the waste product generated from thermal power plant and ground granulate blast furnace slag is generated as waste material in steel plant.

Both fly ash and GGBS are processed by appropriate technology and used for concrete works in th ....etc

What s wrong with cement concrete?
Many concrete structures deteriorate after 20 years.

Cement production releases high amounts of CO2 to the atmosphere(1tonne of cement production releases 1tonne of CO2) thus contributing to 7% of world CO2 emissions.

Cement is one of the most energy intensive material.


How to reduce the use of cement
Partially replace the use of cement in concrete.
example: high volume fly ash concrete
