ABSTRACT
Solar panel converts the light energy from the sun into electrical energy. In ordinary solar panel systems, the solar panel is fixed in a particular direction. The solar panel delivers maximum energy only when it faces directly towards the sun. Since the sun is moving continuously, the solar panel cannot deliver maximum energy when the solar panel fixed at one direction.

Abstract
Solid state control of ac power using diodes, thyristors and triacs injects the harmonics into the ac mains. These injected harmonics cause low efficiency in the supply system, poor power factor and EMI problems. Active filters have been considered a potential candidate to reduce these problems. This paper deals with an active power-filter (APF) based on simple control with optimum selection of energy storage capacitor. Abstract
In this seminar a new maximum power point tracking algorithm for photovoltaic arrays is proposed. The algorithm detects the maximum power point of the PV. The computed maximum power is used as a reference value (set point) of the control system. ON/OFF power controller with hysteresis band is used to control the operation of a Buck chopper such that the PV module always operates at its maximum power computed from the MPPT algorithm.
